Tooth Fairy Strikes Again!

So yesterday was an exciting day at our house...My six year old lost her first tooth!  She was so excited. She had been working on wiggling this already loose tooth for about three weeks with no luck.  It was one of her bottom front teeth and it looks so cute when she smiles now!

She asks me "Mom, What does the tooth fairy do with all the teeth she collects from kids?"  I told her that the tooth fairy takes them and uses them for her castle which is made of teeth!  She liked that response and was so excited to think of her tooth being part of the Tooth Fairy's castle.

Before bed we explained to her how she had to go right to sleep or the tooth fairy wouldn't come, so she did just that!  I went to bed early for once, so my husband was on Tooth Fairy duty.  He told me it took him three different tries before he finally got the money under the pillow.  I guess she would jolt awake when he opened the door, asking in a groggy voice if it was the Tooth Fairy. Too cute!

She proudly woke us up this morning to announce the tooth fairy had left her a crisp five dollar bill. I sure wish the Tooth Fairy had left me that kind of money when I was a kid.  I think I was lucky to get a dollar out of her...

  1. It's inflation you know. When I was little I got a few coins or a dollar. I'm 35 now.

My son is six too. He starts first grade next week. When he lost his first tooth I asked some other parents what the going rate was. I heard anywhere from 5 to 20 dollars!! I think Hunter wound up getting $10.

  2. Thanks for stopping by Nikki! I think $20 is ridiculously high for a single tooth in my opinion. That's crazy! With four kiddos I would go broke, LoL!
