Blamtastic Lip Balm Review

 Blamtastic Lip Balm Review

What's more exciting than a lip balm company created by kids, for kids!  Blamtastic Lip Balm is the product of the Sandler sisters and their vision for what a good lip balm should be!  This lip balm isn't just for the girls either, there's a boys line as well.  Blamtastic has "Luscious Lip Balm" for girls and "Potent Lip Balm" for guys.

I had the pleasure of receiving some great balm samples from Blamtastic for review and you should of seen how excited my daughters were to get their hands on some!
Four girls + New Lip Balms = Excitement Overload!
I had to try some too of course, you know, for review reasons (sshh!)  The kids and I love how yummy these lip balms smell.  They truly smell exactly how they are named, not overpowering waxy smells like other lip balms on the market.  The kids also just love the lip balm sleeves for their balms!  They like that they can clip them on their belt loop for easy Blamtastic application.  I like that I'm able to feel safe knowing that they are having fun with their new Blamtastic balms and I don't have to worry about any harsh or needless additives.  As for one of the spares I put in my purse for myself, it will be used!

So What Makes Blamtastic So Different From Other Lip Balms?

* Not Tested On Animals
* Petroleum Free - Unlike other companies who use it cause it's cheap. Blamtastic uses natural emollients!
* Made In The U.S.A. - Did you know most lip balms are not!
* No Parabens - If you didn't know, parabens are synthetic preservetives that mimic estrogen and are widely   used in the cosmetic world. I don't know about you but I don't want my children around that junk!
*SPF-15- Our lips need protected too!

Now For The Fun Stuff!

Blamtastic for girls comes in fun choices such as Cherry Nilla, Lemon-licious, O.M.G. (Oh My Grape), Wow Wow Watermelon, Sassafrassy Root Beer, and Strawberry Shake!

Blamtastic for boys comes in fun choices such as Brain Squeeze- Sour Cherry, Radioactive- Lemon Lime, Alien Invasion- Green Apple, Grand Slam Blam- Bubblegum, Ballistic Blam- Blue Razz, and Frenetic Fizz- Orange Soda!

Blamtastic also makes Lip Blam Sleeves so you never have to worry about losing your balm!  You can purchase them separate from the balm, or you can buy them already with your lip balm from Amazon.com Hooks easily to notebooks, sports bags, or backpacks for handy application!

Beautiful Creatures Review And Giveaway

Beautiful Creatures C.D. Review And Giveaway

Beautiful Creatures was formed in South Africa in November 2004 by Alan Glass, Ed Jordan, and Paul Choritz.  They saw a need for more parent friendly children's music and that's how "Beautiful Creatures" was born! Beautiful Creatures features the best session musicians, actors, and singers in the country and sends a positive global message through their music!

Now a household name in South Africa and an already wonderful response from overseas, Beautiful Creatures is ready to take the world by storm with their wonderful C.D.'s and children's books.  They also have toys, clothes, and a television series in development!

I had the chance to review their original C.D. "Beautiful Creatures" which is one in a line of many of their wonderful C.D.'s they have to offer!  This C.D. offers great songs for kids such as "Imvubu the Happiest Hippo" and "Lucas the Lazy Lion".  You can listen to a sample of these tracks HERE.

I surprised the girls by loading the C.D. onto their iPods and then I set them loose with the great new songs I added.  They are now jamming to these songs all over the place and I have to say the tunes are quite fun and catchy!  I think parents will find this C.D. enjoyable to listen to and I think it's great just due to the fact that it doesn't fit the typical children's music mold.  This mom actually thinks it's cool!

My favorite track is "African Lullabye".  This one has a wonderful soothing melody and it's perfect for getting your little one ready to fall fast asleep!

Tantrums- How Do You Handle Them?

So I wanted to touch upon a not so fun subject and hopefully get some tips from other moms in the process on "tantrums". Now I don't know about other moms but when I wake up every morning my forecast for the day is almost always a 99% chance of getting to enjoy at least one tantrum.  I have four daughters and they fight like most sisters do, so I guess that increases the odds quite a bit. My husband claims I have the patience of a saint but I think I just hide the stress better than he does.

Now I've tried everything in the book short of spanking, which is something I have never believed in, nor will I start.  I have done grounding, taking away their favorite gadgets (such as their iPods), and being calm while trying to make them see reason.

Let's take last night for example... We are driving home from my mother in law's and the kids start to fight.  It always starts with one kid picking on the other, which then turns into a shouting match, and proceeds to lead to an all out war!   Now mind you I ask them to please get along and treat each other with respect. Now this usually is a one ear and out the other kind of request so I then start the warnings. I warn if the ones involved do not stop the fighting, then a grounding for one day will start.  For some reason this sparks off what I would call a classic "tantrum".  The tantrum sparks when hearing this warning when all they have to do is calm down to avoid getting grounded.  I can't seem to make them understand that.  Then I have to once again ask it to stop before I tack on another day.  More tantrum...and the cycle continues before I just feel like one big stress ball and hope that it ends soon.

I do stick to my guns though when they are grounded hoping that it will register and they will see that I am serious about not tolerating bad behavior.  So far though it's not working well and I could use some advice from mom's who seem to have the whole tantrum thing under control.

I'm wondering how other moms out there deal with the dreaded tantrum.  Are you having success with any kind of certain approach?  Are you in the same boat as me?  Any comments and suggestions welcome!

Tooth Tissues Review

Tooth Tissues Product Review

Introducing an easy and handy way to keep baby's teeth healthy and strong!  Tooth Tissues were invented by dentists Dr. Grace Lo and Jonathan Korn.  These dentists knew of the importance of good dental hygiene for any baby and toddler after feedings and before bedtime, so they found a simpler and more pleasant way to begin good hygiene with their own two daughters. Tooth Tissues was the result!

Fact: Tooth Decay Is The Single Most Common Infectious Disease In Children

These unique textured wipes are disposable and designed for infants and toddlers.  They effectively and safely remove plaque from teeth, gums, tongue, and cheeks.  Tooth Tissues comes in a pack of 30 unflavored wipes in a soft resealable pouch or in single use packets.

No need to worry about sticky residue on fingers or teeth and best of all...They are 99% natural!  Tooth Tissues are made with soothing aloe vera, are paraben free, and fight cavities with xyletol, a proven cavity fighter.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to review Tooth Tissues for myself on my youngest daughter!  I will admit I was highly anticipating this review just due to the fact that it is such a great concept.  The wipes were easy to use to clean my daughter's teeth and she didn't mind the wipes at all!  I'm planning on getting myself an extra pack just to keep in my purse at all times. These would definitely come in handy after my daughter eats at a restaurant or has a sweet snack away from home!  I would recommend Tooth Tissues to any parent with a baby or toddler to promote healthy dental hygiene.

Want to know where you can pick up some Tooth Tissues of your own?

You can even purchase them at Amazon.com!

Tie Buddies Review And Giveaway!

Tie Buddies Review And Giveaway

Teaching your kids to tie their shoes is now fun and easier with Tie BuddiesTie Buddies was born in January 2007 by inventor and mother of two, Wendy Welling.  Tie Buddies takes the frustration out of the equation with the use of simple pull tabs that are easy to grip with tiny hands.  With tabs featuring fun and cheerful graphics, your child will be on their way to tying their shoes all on their own in no time! Best of all, Tie Buddies are recommended by kindergarten teachers everywhere!

I was very excited to have the opportunity to review Tie Buddies as I have a six year old daughter that is still struggling with tying her shoes.  I was surprised at how easy it was to not only add Tie Buddies to the laces, but also at how simple it made tying shoes!  I'm not kidding when I say it took all of five minutes of me demonstrating for her to have this easy process down all on her own!  She loves the fairy and wand graphics, plus she adores the color pink so she was sold from the beginning!

I would personally recommend Tie Buddies to any parent with young ones just learning to tie their shoes.  This product really does make the whole process fun for the child and gives them such a sense of accomplishment to see that they have tied their own shoes!

Tie Buddies can be purchased through this link and retail for $8.99/each: Tie Buddies

We Got A Kitten!

So we went today and picked out a new addition for our family, a kitten!  She is so adorable and is slowly warming up to all of us, including the dog.  As far as the kitten and the dog go, they are smelling each other but so far no hissing, growling, scratching, or any of that going on. Fingers are crossed that this is a good match but so far so good!  Now for her name...The kids decided to lovingly name her "Miss Poopsie".  I have to admit it is kinda cute and the cat doesn't seem to mind so "Miss Poopsie" it is!  Here is a picture of our new baby girl...

Slow Cooker Saturday!

So I decided it would be fun to start a "Slow Cooker Saturday" on the blog!  I myself love my slow cooker a.k.a. crock pot.  They are great for making soups and stews when it's chilly outside, as well as saves heat created from your oven in the summer months!

My first recipe for the intro to my "Slow Cooker Saturday" will be one that is my fav and is a hit with guests!  It's my spin on the notorious slow cooker recipe "3 Envelope Pot Roast". I actually happened upon this variation on accident while I was preparing to make the 3 Envelope Pot Roast and realized I had no brown gravy packet.  I searched the cupboards for something that would work as a substitute and would provide great flavor.  I grabbed for my box of Lipton Onion Soup Mix and decided a packet of this would have to do.  That night my husband and kids could not say enough good things about the roast.  They agreed it was better than the other way I was making it... so thus spawned the new 3 Envelope Pot Roast recipe!

*** Super Kicked Up 3 Envelope Pot Roast ***
Ingredients:
* 1 Beef Roast
* 1 Cup Of Water
* 1 Envelope Dry Italian Seasoning Mix
* 1 Envelope Dry Ranch Dressing Mix
* 1 Envelope Dry Lipton Onion Soup Mix

Directions:
* Place Roast In Bottom Of Slow Cooker
* Sprinkle All 3 Dry Mix Envelopes Over The Beef Roast
* Pour 1 Cup Of Water In The Bottom Of The Slow Cooker

What I Luv About Summer!

One of my all time favorite things about summer is going to the beach! We pretty much live at the beach during the summer. I just love the feeling of the water washing up over my feet and the fun of finding unique seashells! Our latest trip included exploring tide pools which was a blast! The kids loved getting to touch all the creatures including starfish and sea anemones (Hope I spelled that right, LoL!).
