Catty Women

If any of you watched "The Real Housewives of New York: Reunion Part 1" earlier tonight like I did, you had to have noticed that the women were all very catty to each other.  I would have to say that so far it has seemed to be much cattier than last year's reunion for sure.  This led me to think about women in general and how they can be catty with one another.

I think at some point all women have encountered, or been the instigator, of catty activity.  Whether it was in high school, college, work, or in a room full of strangers, the likelihood that you have experienced this type of behavior to some degree is likely.

While watching this show I just had to wonder why anyone who felt like they were being treated catty by a so called "friend", would want to go back for more torment.  Why would you subject yourself to that?  I understand they get money for doing the show and that they almost always work out their tiffs, but how much is enough to where you end that type of friendship?

While I appear quiet to most people, I'm actually quite opionated and carry a strong personality.  Because of my strong personality, there is no way that I would be able to handle catty women in my life.  In fact, I can usually tell within minutes of speaking to someone whether or not they are going to be friendship material.  I purposely go out of my way to avoid surrounding myself with people who either are catty, or just don't have a positive way about them.  I don't fake it either!  If I don't like someone I don't pretend to.  That's another thing I noticed with the housewives. They do a lot of nice to your face and cruel behind your back.

While I would personally like to see the housewives get along and have these wonderful blossoming friendships, the truth is that the drama brings in the viewers.  Kelly actually spoke some sense when on last year's reunion she said that "Women should celebrate each other" and I have to agree!  If you watched, what do you think?  What's your opinion on catty women?
