Aerobie Skylighter Lighted Disc Review And Giveaway

Skylighter Lighted Disc By Aerobie
Review And Giveaway
Aerobie, the maker of an assortment of wonderful and fun sports products, has taken frisbee to a whole new level with their Skylighter lighted disc!  This fun lighted flying disc uses powerful LED lights to illuminate the disc's clear center and the translucent colored rim to make this Skylighter light up the night sky.  Not only for night time fun, the Skylighter can also be used for play without the light feature in the daytime!

The Skylighter is easy for all ages to enjoy with its soft rubber rim that provides for easy gripping and catching.  This disc comes in colors yellow, red, blue, and green!  The Skylighter comes with the 2 lithium batteries required for use, and provide for long lasting fun.  Aerobie products are also proudly made in the U.S.A.!

I had the wonderful opportunity to review the Aerobie Skylighter disc with my family.  This lighted disc is so much more exciting than your average frisbee!  At night it lights up the sky for entertaining fun for the whole family!  I was really surprised how bright it lit up.  The LED lights really make it bright, able to stand out and successfully play a game of frisbee at night.  When these summer days turn into night and we just want to cool off as the temperature goes down in the evening, we now have a fun activity the whole family can join in on!

The soft rubber rim that surrounds the outside of the disc makes for easy catching!  It also seems to pad you a lot easier from accidental run ins from missed catches, unlike the hard plastic frisbee alternative.  It's surprisingly durable as well!  My kids are still younger and not quite the pros of throwing and catching discs, so the house/street/car all took some hits, but the disc stayed working perfectly and the rubber rim prevented any damage to anything.  I think the Skylighter is a great way to get out and spend some time as a family.  We have been making it a regular activity to go out and do at night since we received ours!  The Skylighter gets two thumbs up from this mom!

My kids invited all their friends from the neighborhood for the party!  We ended up having 8 kids altogether and they had so much fun playing SuperHeat!  I was worried the kids might have a hard time catching on how to play, but they actually caught on quite quickly!  We ended up playing four games of SuperHeat and even mom here got in on the game!  My kids are already asking when they can get more cards to collect.  I think its great how the cards can be collected and used in the game.  So awesome!

I couldn't have asked for a greater group of kids at the party.  We had a ton of fun and the kids are still getting together to play SuperHeat since the party!  One of my favorite parts was when all the kids put on their temporary tattoos from their party packs.  Look below for a funny picture of what one of my 7 year old twins decided to do with hers!

Montagne Jeunesse Facial Masque Review

Montagne Jeunesse Facial Masque Review

Want to feel like you just came from the spa but don't want to pay those spa prices?  Maybe you just want to relax and pamper yourself.  Montagne Jeunesse is ready to help with their wonderful line of facial masque products, designed with your skin, and budget in mind!  This unique line of facial masques boast natural ingredients that cleanse, purify, refresh, and pamper your skin to help you put your best face forward!

I had the exciting opportunity to review some Montagne Jeunesse facial masques for myself!  I was sent their Cucumber Anti-Stress Peel-Off Masque, the Exfoliating Honey Crystal Masque, and the Deep Pore Cleaning Crushed Raspberry Fruit Smoothie Masque to try for myself!  The Cucumber Anti-Stress Masque is good for problem skin and removing blackheads and impurites.  The Exfoliating Crystal Masque uses sugar cane crystals and dead sea salt to exfoliate and balance the skin.  The Fruit Smoothie Masque smooths, softens, and unclogs pores.  This masque contains 3 times the anti-oxidant properties of red wine!

I will start off by first saying that these are by far the best smelling facial masques I have ever tried.  While most facial masques I have tried usually have a chemical smell to them, these masques smelled sweet and fragrant!  While I enjoyed trying each of the different masks, my favorite hands down was the Crushed Raspberry Fruit Smoothie Masque.  The sweet smell of raspberries while I had the masque on was so relaxing and pleasant.  My skin felt so soft after this masque, no joke!  If you're looking for a fantastic product to keep your face smooth, clean, and rejuvenated - this product is it!

You can find Montagne Jeunesse Masques at:
  • Walmart
  • Ultra Beauty
  • and other fine beauty establishments!

Weigh In On Rafflecopter

Weigh In On Rafflecopter!

With the introduction of Rafflecopter being used now for giveaway entries in many blogs, I'm open to hearing what others have to say about this service.  I currently do not use Rafflecopter for my giveaway entries.  I am still in the post a comment mode.  Not sure yet if I will ever switch over.  I'm hoping to get some good feedback from my readers on the good, or the bad, of Rafflecopter.

There is a big reason why I have yet to make the switch.  Years before I even started blogging, I was (and still am!) a member of Online-Sweepstakes.com.  I'm sure many of you will recognize that website as a good resource to gain traffic for your blog giveaways!  The discussions on Rafflecopter on this site by its members has me not really sure which way to go.

Most of the comments that fellow members of this site are concerned about is regarding cheaters, which I fully understand.  Blog giveaways can take a good little chunk of time to enter, especially if you like to get in all the extra entries you can!  There's been talk of some Rafflecopter giveaways being sketchy due to the fact that one might boast 2,000 entries, while the main entry is to leave a comment and there are only 100 or less there.  I have to say, as someone who does like to enter fellow blogger giveaways, this does make me nervous!

So here are some of the questions I have.  Hopefully some of you more Rafflecopter experienced bloggers can help me out!

  • If you use Rafflecopter, is it hard to manage catching those who unfortunately cheat?
  • Have you tried Rafflecopter and like it, or have you switched back to the general commenting method?
  • Do you have any feelings regarding preferring entering giveaways that use or do not use the Rafflecopter method?
  • If you have switched to Rafflecopter, are you seeing an increase in entries?

Please Chime In With Your Feedback!

When Approaching A Family With Twins...

If you are a parent of twins, especially identical twins, I think you will definitely be able to relate to this post.  If you are not a parent of twins, I do have some advice of sorts to share.  It actually never ceases to amaze me some of the things strangers will say or do when they see my identical twin girls.  I do chuckle a bit writing this post, as I don't mean for anyone to take offense if you are guilty of doing any of these things.  Like I mentioned, parents of twins would understand!  So here are my little pet peeves when it comes to strangers approaching my twins in public.

When Approaching A Family With Twins:

Please understand how silly it sounds when you ask me "Are they twins?" or "Are they identical twins?"  My girls look as identical as they come and are almost always seen dressed alike. This one always leaves me and my husband dumbfounded and it honestly does provide a good laugh for the day!

This one is probably my biggest pet peeve, and understandably so.  I understand people are fascinated by twins, especially identical twins.  All I ask is that you please have some respect when approaching my family in public.  Please do not fawn, dote, shower my twins with a ton of attention, etc. while my other two girls are standing right there.  While you may not realize it, after you have had your fill and walked off, it makes my other two girls feel pretty left out.  Especially when this happens quite frequently.  I hate to see my other girls feel left out in these situations.  I feel that all my girls are equally special and deserving of attention.

* If you're a parent of twins, I would love to hear you chime in on this conversation!

Muriel Weiner is the wonderful woman behind Designerliners.  As one of New York's most successful executives in the advertising business, she has revolutionized the way we look at our trash!  Muriel's stance is that if paper towels can be dressed up with pretty designs, why can't our trash bag liners?  Then came the ingenious idea of Designerliners!
Designerliners Color/Pattern Combos
 * You can purchase Designerliners at Designerliners.com, eBay, Amazon, and Alice.com *

Two other patterns are available only on eBay and Amazon; the 7 gallon size Green Gingham and Brown Leopard.

I had the wonderful opportunity of reviewing the Red Gingham 7 gallon size trash bags.  The bags came in a pack of 12.  First impression was that I loved the packaging.  They didn't come in your average trash bag box, which was nice and unique!  I also loved the Red Gingham print, as my home is decorated mostly in Americana decor, so these liners match perfectly!  The whole idea of a decorative trash liner is so refreshing to me.  Now that I have been using the Designerliners, I love the look of my waste baskets.  Did I just say that?  Yep!  I truly do!  I can't think of any reason to want to go back to the plain white trash bags again.  With all the different patterns Designerliner has to offer, you can change up your look often, or accessorize the waste basket in each room of your home to match your decor.  It's ingenious!

Where To Buy:  Designerliners come as a 12 pack for $9.95 and can be purchased through designerliners.com, eBay, Amazon.com, and Alice.com.

Being A Vegetarian Mom In A House Full Of Meat Eaters

I decided to go vegetarian about a month ago now.  My husband and children still eat meat, and that's fine with me.  I would never push my personal choices on my family.  I am fairly surprised with how well I am doing with still cooking meat for the others in my house.  I guess I envisioned after I went vegetarian that I would be repulsed beyond belief over cooking meat for them.  That really hasn't been the case at all.  Don't get me wrong, I don't especially enjoy cooking meat now that I'm a veg head, but I know that its what they want to eat, and so I cook it.

Lately I have been scouting around trying to find myself some vegetarian recipes to try.  I have noticed that when grocery shopping, I am neglecting to get myself some foods that I can eat.  That's typical me though, worrying about everyone else!  I finally realized the extent of it though last night when I went to get a snack and noticed that my option was pretty much a cheese sandwich, lol!

I am going to go grocery shopping and pick myself up some veg friendly choices.  If any of you moms out there have some wonderful recipe links to share, I would adore that!  When I became a vegetarian, I kept reading how my food choices would actually expand, not narrow.  So far, I am not expanding the way I thought I would.  Maybe its my picky side when it comes to food.  Who knows?  I guess I just need to keep looking for recipes that peak my interest.  This is my journey, solo vegetarian mom in a house full of meat eaters!

Back To School With Zenni Optical

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zenni Optical for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Back To School Budgeting With Zenni Optical

Saving money with your back to school needs is a top priority for most families in today's economy.  Making sure your child has eyeglasses that will stand up to everyday school wear, as well as being budget friendly, is now a whole lot easier with Zenni Optical

You may be wondering what kind of deals Zenni Optical has.  Let's just say that they start their eyeglasses at $6.95 and only go up to $46.00!  I found a super cute two toned pair I would love to have for my next pair of eyeglasses for only $29.95.  They look so chic and expensive that I probably wouldn't even attempt to look at their price in an eyeglass store.

Another cool feature that Zenni Optical offers is a virtual tool called "Zenni Frame Fit", where you can upload you or your child's picture so that you can try on Zenni's range of eyeglasses to see how they look before you order!  I know it makes me feel a lot more comfortable and prepared for what the eyeglasses will truly look like on me.  No surprises!

While my four daughters do not have to wear eyeglasses, my husband and I do need them for driving.  As you can image with four young kids I go through at least two pairs a year.  For some reason my kids have found it fun in the past to either bend the ear pieces or lose them completely.  I am honestly looking forward to shopping for my next pair of eyeglasses through Zenni Optical.  Check them out for yourself and see how you can save money on prescription glasses this year for you and your family!

My Fall Schedule For School

I thought I would share my fall schedule for college.  I can't believe I'm finally starting my final year next month!  After a change in major and three years total of school, this will all be worth it in the end.  I still plan on pursuing a Bachelor's in Psychology after my Associates, but I think I will take a year off in between and start back to work to help pay off my student loans which kick in next year.

I have to take the full 18 credits this year to graduate on time, but I know I'm strong enough to get it done and I just keep reminding myself of the future job I will have from this all.  My goal is to work with disadvantaged children in the system and help counsel children of abuse and trauma in general.  I know of some other blog moms who are going back to school this year and I commend them to the fullest.  It really requires a lot of effort and balancing work!

My Fall Schedule

  • American Art  (Online Course)
  • Computer Fundamentals  (Online Course)
  • Understanding Movies: American Cinema  (Telecourse)
  • General Psychology  (Online Course)
  • Introduction to Sociology  (Online Course)

Prefense Hand Sanitizer Review And Giveaway

Prefense Hand Sanitizer Review And Giveaway

Prefense hand sanitizer is a completely unique and alcohol free, moisturizing hand sanitizer.  Safe for adults and children, just one application daily protects you and your family from germs for 24+ hours!  With the arrival of back to school, keeping germs from traveling home with your child can be a challenge.  The 1.5 oz. bottle of hand sanitizer is a great and portable sized choice to have your child keep in their backpack at school.

Prefense foaming hand sanitizer dries into an invisible, protective film that acts as a barrier against germs all day!  Prefense works by slicing the cell wall of pathogens you may come into contact with for up to 10 hand washings.  Prefense also contains a silica complex that will keep your skin feeling moisturized, not dried out like other hand sanitizers.

* Prefense Foaming Hand Sanitizer has been tested against strains of Staphylococcus aureus and drug resistant MRSA strains *

I had the wonderful opportunity to review a bottle of Prefense Hand Sanitizer for myself.  I also let my kids try it out, since it is kid friendly!  I reviewed the 1.5 oz. size bottle that is good for 120 sprays!  The first thing I checked for when I applied the product was its ability to easily be rubbed into my skin.  I really dislike some of the other brands of hand sanitizers out there that are very oily feeling and seem to take too long to get worked into the skin.  Prefense passed the test on this part!  The product did not feel oily at all, and it easily blended right into my skin.

Another thing I checked for right away was the smell of the product.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that Prefense has a very neutral, mild scent.  The faint hint of smell I did pick up was one that smelled clean, like fresh washed hands!  Next I let my kids apply the product to get their opinion.  They were easily able to apply the product and they all mentioned that they liked the smell.  For us, this product passed the test of what we would look for in a trusty hand sanitizer!  I love how I can apply it just once a day to all of us and it will protect against germs all day long!
