So here's my Day 1 overview.  I took Dustin's advice and I actually ate breakfast.  Now this is something I normally do not do.  I like to blame it on my busy hectic mornings.  It's terrible, I know.  But anyways, I ate!  I've also been drinking water throughout the day, which is also recommended.  I just finished up a 40 minute combo of strength training, core, and cardio.  Oh my goodness I am beat, I'm not even gonna lie.  But I did it!

After watching Dustin's video that comes with the challenge, I now have a better idea of the different food choices I need to make.  He did a wonderful job of going over the different foods and their benefits.  I did have to take a -1 point for my morning cup of coffee.  I honestly don't see that going away.  I love my coffee!  I look at it as take on one thing at a time.  I'm working on getting healthier and my track record is overwhelming myself or pushing myself too hard leads to quitting, and I don't want to go there this time.

So here's my starting point.  It makes me cringe to write this, but I currently weigh 185 lbs.  I'm wearing a size 9 in jeans and that is just not acceptable any longer to me.  Dustin recommends a short term attainable goal for this first 21 days (new challenges start the 1st of every month!) so I am going for a goal of 15 lbs over this 21 days.  Long term goal is to be able to rock a swimsuit this summer!  I also have a pair of jeans pre-weight gain I want to be able to wear again.  I pulled them out and looked at them today to give me something to look forward to!  Honestly, if I can get myself down to 135-140 I will feel good again.  I'm on the taller side, 5'8", so at that weight I look proportioned and healthy.  This extra 45 lbs I have put on since having the twins 7 years ago, does not.  So I've had 7 years to get off my behind and do something about this.  I'm finally  happy to say I'm ready and let's do this!  I think a big motivator is going to be having a strong network of other mom bloggers to share and push each other.  Go Moms!

  2. I'm with you: my ultimate goal is to rock a swimsuit! I'm dying to try a two-piece swimsuit, but it's really not nice to the others at the beach or pool to show off the flabby muffin top. Ew. So, this seems doable, right? Let's do it! :)

  3. I can't even tell you the last time I tried to rock a two piece, lol! High school maybe? Yes, I'm adopting a just say no to muffin tops rule (that includes mine!).

  4. At least he told us up front that this challenge was not going to be fun, right? LOL I'm excited about it and so glad to have the accountability (to myself, to the points, to other bloggers) to keep me on track.

  6. I'm not participating, but I am cheering you all on! You have very reasonable goals. Here's a tip, try to find an old thigh master ala Suzanne Sommers and use it while you watch TV. It does great things for hips a thighs. There's a reason she made a mint on them! Also, take the stairs whenever you can make water your drink of choice (don't even drink diet stuff). You'll see results! Good luck!!! I'm your newest follower from Chaton's World(http://chatonsworld.blogspot.com) I'd love it if you'd follow me back!
