Day 4 of the 21 Day Mommy Blogger Weight Loss Challenge

Today is Day 4 of the 21 Day Weight Loss Challenge for Mommy Bloggers!  This is a challenge put on by Dustin Maher, author of Fit Moms for Life.  I'm getting my post in later again due to a day full of kids sports.  I actually just finished my workout about an hour ago.  Today I did a mix of cardio and strength training.  Feeling the burn!  My proud moment today was when my husband brought home cupcakes from work and I didn't touch one!  They were red velvet too.  The old me just a couple of days ago would of pounced on the chance to eat one.  There actually ended up being only one left and I did the right thing, and I just walked it outside to the garbage can.  I didn't even need that kind of temptation sitting in my kitchen like that, lol!

I noticed I'm not drinking quite as much water as most of the other ladies in the challenge.  I'm trying though, just never been a huge plain water drinker.  I love vitamin water, but I don't think that counts for this program.  My downfall is coffee, which I do subtract my points for because that is not going away.  I quit drinking soda last year though, so I feel fortunate to not have to struggle with that one.  In fact, I don't even miss it!  For lunch I had a whole grain/natural peanut butter sandwich (no jelly).  I am amazed at just by switching to whole grain bread how much fuller I feel after a sandwich.  I'm not going to lie and say I think it is delicious compared to a nice sandwich made of soft white bread.  It isn't bad though, and I am loving the benefit of feeling good and full afterwards.

Tomorrow will be my designated one day a week that is my off day.  Not off from the diet, just off from exercise.  I have noticed a couple other ladies are doing the Sunday thing off as well.  I figure six planned days of workouts a week is enough.  Enough I tell you!

Here's some other wonderful mom bloggers in this month's challenge.  Stop by and give them some support!

  2. Good for you, Heidi! Red Velvet cup cakes and you said "NO" :)

I am very proud of you! and Peanut Butter and whole grain bread has begun to be my favorite as well. I have to say that it makes me feel so much better than if I had eaten pancakes, fried eggs, waffles, etc etc.

    Enjoy your Sunday off :)

  3. Good for you for throwing out the cupcake. Temptation is so hard. Can I offer a trick with water? Drink 3-4 cups first thing in the morning. Have it next to your bed so you can drink it before you even get out of your room. That will trigger your thirst for the day and have you craving water. Good Luck!

  4. Good job! Have you tried adding lemon or lime slices in with your water. Others say to add cucumber but I have never done that one. If you like the vitamin water, maybe try some of the crystal light pure fitness...it is made with stevia natural sweetener instead of artificial sweeteners..not sure if that is ok for our points, but if you like your water a bit sweetened it definitely helps. Enjoy your rest day!
