Joy Williams - Venus Album Review #JoyWilliams #O2O

Many of you may recognize Joy Williams as the former 1/2 of the Grammy winning duo The Civil Wars.  Well Joy Williams has definitely come into her own now in her new solo album titled "Venus", showcasing her true talent over 11 beautifully crafted songs.  Through these songs she shares with her listeners what she has journeyed through over these past two and half years since the break up of The Civil Wars, and each song shares a special part of Joy that is honest and a true joy to listen to.

After reviewing the entire Venus album by Joy Williams I have to say that all the tracks are truly amazing!  If I had to pick a few though that stand out to me I would have to say that first off one of my favorites are the first track called "Before I Sleep" which I feel beautifully showcases the range of Joy's voice.  This is one I have had on replay because I enjoy it so much!  I also enjoyed track four titled "One Day I Will".  I can only describe it as hauntingly moving.  You can feel Joy's personal pain and struggles in this song, and it holds your attention right from the start.  And last but not least I would have to include the track "Woman (Oh Mama)" because it is a fun and upbeat song that I feel speaks to women in so many ways.  I found it very empowering!  I would highly recommend the Joy Williams Venus album after reviewing it.  Her voice is beautiful and her songs seem to take you on her journey with her as you listen.  I was very impressed!
