Fun Ideas for Indoor Camping

Today marks the first day of Fall and with the kids back to school and the cooler Fall weather kicking in, camping usually waits until next year.  The good news is that just because it is cooling down outside it doesn't mean that the camping fun has to end!  Having an indoor camp out can be just as fun, especially for the little ones.  Here are some ideas that you can use to re-create camping indoors!

Where to Sleep?

If you're looking for some fun ideas for sleeping arrangements try an indoor teepee for kids like the one pictured above.  You can also create a fort out of blankets or use a small pop up tent to create the perfect mood for indoor camping.  You could even try to re-create an outdoor hammock indoors!

What to Eat?

No camping trip is complete without S'mores!  There are variety of ways you can make S'mores indoors such as in the oven on a baking sheet or with an indoor S'mores maker that really creates a camp feel.  Check out the Hershey's S'mores maker above that is perfect for the occasion!  Some other great ideas include hot dogs, trail mix, or maybe some warm and tasty slow cooker chili.

Need Activity Ideas?

You might be camping indoors but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of activity options you can include!  How about some scary ghost stories, or for the younger ones, you can take turns telling or reading fun bedtime stories.  Board games are also a fun hit for the whole family!  Pick out some of your family's favorite board games and enjoy some quality time together.  It doesn't matter who wins because everyone is having fun!
