Being a mom is amazing, brilliant, the best job in the
world, but it can get pretty stressful at times too. When you have very active
kids running around wanting to be entertained all the time, a mountain of
chores to do and maybe even a job to hold down, it’s pretty difficult to relax
and keep your cool and that’s why it’s vital that moms and dads schedule some
time to let off stream as often as possible.
If you’re feeling frazzled and you’ve decided it’s time to
have a break, here are some pretty awesome ways to let off steam:
Get Intimate
When you’re busy parents it can be tough to find the time to
cuddle up and have some fun together, but it really is one of the best ways to
let off steam. Apart from the obvious fact that it feels pretty goods, it also
enables the body to release feel-good hormones that will help you relax and
chill out better than anything else.
Have a Home Spa Day
If you can feel that steam building up, threatening to blow
the top off your head, but you simply cannot get away from home, why not turn
your place into a relaxing spa for the evening? Wait until the children are all
tucked up in bed, light some candles, draw yourself a hot bubble bath, maybe
play some classical music and pour a glass of wine, then just relax. It won’t take
up too much of your time and you won’t have to worry about finding a
babysitter, but it will blow the cobwebs away and ensure that you feel
amazingly relaxed for the next few ways.
Spend Some Time in an Escape Room
If you’ve spent so much time playing kids games or reading
the same two children’s books night after night to the point that it feels like
your brain is starting to shut down, one really awesome activity that could get
your firing on all cylinders again is the escape room. If you haven’t heard of
them before, escape rooms are an activity-based adventure where you’re locked
up in a room, usually for an hour. Around you, there will be lots of clues to
find and puzzles to solve that will enable you to unlock the door. Best
attended with good friends, it’s a fun way to let of steam and engage your
brain and with themes ranging from the kidnap scenario to a creepy haunted
house situation, there is really something for everyone.
Write in a Journal
If you’re feeling frustrated because the kids won’t clean up
for themselves or because you’re having a tough time at work, a very simple way
of blowing off steam is to write up your issues in a journal. Get it all out
there and you’ll feel a million times better once you’ve unburdened yourself.
Do Some Yoga
Whether you do it at home or at the studio, striking a few
poses, clearing your head and watching your breath is a great way to make those
cares drain away.
Time to schedule some mommy time?
